Bruce Banner was a mild mannered scientist minding his own business until he was accidentally exposed to a gamma ray. This unleashed his hidden dark side and turned him into a raging brute with incalculable strength. Whenever he'd get angry, he would turn into a huge green monster whose vocabulary would only be limited to two words: search and destroy.

In the beginning, things were still okay. knowing his own weakness, he avoided arguments, dodged flying fists and evaded sticky situations. The people around him thought that he was just a regular guy with a regular life with regular problems.

But one day, it happened. Slowly, he heaved, he hoed, he grew, he turned green. He grabbed the poor, shivering guy by the collar and slammed him to the wall, and the hulk was never the same again.

Over the years, after much experimentation, he has managed to keep a single persona. No longer the Dr. Jekyll - Mr. Hyde kind of guy, he has since learned to stabilize himself and integrate the two. So imagine, a be-dimpled pale, green five foot ten monster (with all the strength that goes with it) with humanly slender arms and a brain to reckon with.

I see him today sprawled comfortably across the sofa chatting with Dr. Beast in the living room. They are arguing about the literary merits of Aeneid and of the divine comedy. They are laughing. That's good.
